About

Hello! I’m Orel, a graduate law student trying to make my best to get my LL.M. at Louisiana State University this year. The proof is, I’m writing live from my favorite place of all times… the  university library!

I moved approximately 18 times since I was born, and it made me see life as an adventure. I really feel like I fully enjoy life when I am abroad and that’s why I’d love to stay in the United States. France, my home country, is lovely, but I just feel that there is so much more to learn abroad!

I think some stories are worth being shared so I made this blog. I try to keep it like a journal in which I gather my best adventures and photos of places I liked. The posts don’t follow a chronological order and I hope that’s not a problem. I love writing in English but as I’m not a native speaker, it’s possible that mistakes remain in my articles. I hope it’s still nice to read them!

Aw, the library is closing! I’d better go. Thank you so much for your interest in my writings and photos. I’m looking forward to talking to you.  – Orel

    Hi Orel,

My name is KC Owens, I’m a college student and I love to travel! While cruising the Internet, I found your site and really enjoyed reading your posts. I have been to countries all over Europe with just my backpack and a camera. Since I am a college student and I have significant bills, it can be difficult to find ways to travel the world. However, I have done this several times, with less than ten pounds of luggage and while on a college dime!

I was hoping that you would allow me to write a post for your blog to share my tips and tricks with your readers. I put a lot of time into my traveling, it is my biggest passion and I would love to inspire others by sharing my stories, mistakes and triumphs. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best,

    KC Owens

  4. Hi Orel,

    • Hi Yogesh. Wow, you are a serious trekker *o*. I’ve never been to the Himalayas but it is planned for when I’ll have some spare time and mates to do treks with! I was supposed to go to Ladakh last summer but I ended up in North America :). Thanks for your comment, but I doubt you will learn much given your experience!

Hello Orel, What a lovely blog. Good luck with your L.L.M. Does that mean we can bring you our copyright questions? I look forward to seeing lots more of your travels in pictures and story. Happy New Year to you. Thanks, Monica

    • Orel Di Angelo says:

Hi Monica, thanks for visiting! You can indeed bring me your copyright, patent and design questions :P. I study French law though so it’ll be hard to find a solution on American matters. My goal in 2012 is to be taken in an American University or find internships in the US to learn more about your legal system (and of course travel in your beautiful country!).
I wish you a happy new year as well.

  32. chettripores says:

I’ve always liked this kind of “world tripping”, through people that have been “there”. the world is too big to see it real in a lifetime. so keep it up, you’re doing great !

    • Orel Di Angelo says:

Thanks! That’s what blogging is about for me too, world tripping through other people or discovering new places to visit them later. Have a happy new year!

  33. aeshahadlina says:

    Dear Mr. Orel,
Thank you very much for liking my post. Your journal is a very interesting one. I like it very much. I’ve always wanted to go to France because people always said that it is a nice place. And I’m already trying to learn as much words and sentences and grammars of the French language already. The hardest part of the language is the pronunciation but, hopefully I can master the language. Keep up your great work!
    Sincerely,
    Aeshah Adlina

    • Orel Di Angelo says:

      Hi Aesha,
I had a weird dream tonight. In the dream my native language was English and I was trying to speak French, but I was so bad at it. Everything seemed so complicated. I didn’t understand any of the grammar rules. I just remembered the dream when I read you. I think it’s related to your message I read yesterday, and another blog I visited :D. If you want to go to France, why not do an exchange here. It’d be easier to learn the language.
      Bonne année.

      • aeshahadlina says:

        Dear Mr. Orel Di Angelo,
:D. Yes, I think it will be easier to master a language by being where the language is from because everyone will talk in the language and you will eventually be good in it. You’re very lucky to be able to go to all of those places you’ve been to like the Ben Nevis and cave into deep, scary but interesting places like the caving trip you made in Lozere, France. Best wishes and a late wish of Happy New Year to you too!
        Sincerely,
        Aeshah Adlina

    • Orel Di Angelo says:

Hi Maria. The 16 times are the cities. 16 countries would’ve been crazy :D. Good 2012! Keep up the gorgeous photographs!

Hi Orel, thanks for visiting my blog. I think everyone said what i want to say already. your pictures are seriously AMAZING. are you using DSLR to take those? wow, how do you lug them around to some of these areas? I hope you will visit my home country one day. Malaysia is very beautiful with plentiful sun.

    • Hi Chuletz. I’m happy that you liked the photos and I’m flattered that you think that I use a DSLR (I had to look it up on google lol). I’m only using a small crappy Lumix 12Mpx digital camera. I’m happy of the results I have with it but when I see pictures people can take on other blogs I really see the limits of my camera. It’s sure that if I had a reflex camera I’d have a problem to carry it safely :D. I’ve heard about Malaysia and I definitely want to travel there!

Hello Orel! Very beautiful your picture above!
Thanks you for visiting my blog.
It’s nice to know someone who studied law, if the university library is your favorite place,
I do not doubt that you will achieve the best!.
One secret to success is to be updated, the studies never ends, and
if you like your career besides the books, you will have a complete success!!
    Greetings from Venezuela!

    • Orel Engel says:

Hey Gaby! THanks for your kind words. I was kidding with the lib being my favorite place, but I spend a lot of time in it though :D
Your blog is cool and it can gives plenty of ideas for a future home, even if I’m far from being able to afford it!

  57. Hi! Your posts about the scottish mountains have made me home sick!!!!!

Enjoy all your outdoors… we’ve never been to Scotland… your pictures are inviting… ;-)

  62. SL Schildan says:

Thank you for “liking” my backyard photos. What a difference a day makes, heavy rains and strong winds left out colorful and tranquil back yard angry, cold, grey, and the trees nearly bare.

I can relate to late nights and early mornings. I was so glad to read a medical report that says the optimum sleep requirement for women is 5 1/2 hrs a night. If I could install a light switch in my brain that flips off when I hit the bed and flips on when it’s time to get up, all would be well.

I’m looking forward to seeing your photographs.

    Shez at Totally Random Shez

    • Orel Engel says:

Your photos are great. I had never seen a backyard as a place where actually so many things are happening. Blogging made me discover that small spaces can be full of secrets.
5 1/2 a night? It doesn’t seem to be a lot to me. I’d need more like twice that amount :D

  63. What amazing pics you take. Makes me want to pack up the backpack and hit the beaten track. Can’t wait to follow where you go next via your blog.

    • Orel Engel says:

Hey! You’re fondue post keeps me very hungry of cheese! Ahah. The posts on my blog are a compilation of my experiences so it’s not in a chronological order. The 3 days trek was in September 2010 (something like from the 24th to the 27th).
